Into the Lightless

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

Into the Lightless is a single-player game for iPhone and iPad by Gabriel Castiglioni ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you play it. In short: we don't collect any.

What we collect

Nothing. The game has no accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It does not send anything about you or how you play to us or to anyone else, and we have no servers that it talks to.

What stays on your device

To remember your progress, the game saves a few small files on your device: the deepest floor you've reached, what you've kindled at the Hearth, a run you've left to come back to, your achievement progress, and whether you've bought the full game. These files never leave your device (except in your device's own backups, if you use them), and deleting the game deletes them.

Game Center

If you're signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game sends your scores and achievements to it, so they can appear on the leaderboards and in your Game Center profile. Game Center is run by Apple: what it shows other players and what it keeps is governed by your Game Center settings and Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't receive your Apple ID or any other personal information from it. You can play without Game Center.

Purchases

The full game is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, payment details or Apple ID. The game is only told that the purchase went through, so it can open the full game. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Everything on it is served from here, except two videos. The silent one behind the title is served from gabdsg.com, hosted on GitHub Pages, which, like any web host, sees your IP address in its logs. The other comes from YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode, and only once you press its play button. Until then nothing is loaded from YouTube or Google. Once you press play, YouTube may set cookies and collect information as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Children

Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If the game ever starts collecting information, this policy will say so before it does.
